2025 marks the 115th Anniversary of the Choir. As a result of the Covid 19 pandemic the number of chorister dropped dramatically. However, in the last two years the choir has gained new members and a new focus on the future. Their common aim is to promote the choir and foster relations with community groups and local charities.
Joining a male voice choir is more than just a hobby. Our members describe belonging to a vibrant community that brings them a multitude of wellness benefits. From reducing stress, improving mental health to fostering deep connections and friendships, the power of singing together is truly transformative. It's a safe space where individuals can come together and share their love for music. This sense of community is invaluable, especially in times when social support is crucial for our well-being.
Collaborations with local charities and community groups can amplify these benefits. On 12th April 2025 the Choir performed at Saint Michael's Church in Abergavenny to raise funds for LATCH, the Welsh Children's cancer care charity. The 7th June 2025 will see the choir performing with the Shrewsbury Male Voice at the Usk Memorial Hall. If you would like to view the details of these and any of the Choirs other events please visit the website at bmvc.org.
Singing with a Choir brings our members joy. If you would like to share in this feeling of camaraderie come and join us from 7.30pm every Tuesday and Thursday at Blaenavon Constitutional Club.
