Blaenavon to Usk Walking Marathon 27th April 2025

We are undertaking the first Usk to Blaenavon Walking Marathon on 27th April 2025. A group of 9 members will be embarking on a 26.2 mile walk from Blaenavon to Usk, raising funds for the Blaenavon Male Voice Choir.

Part of the money raised will also be donated to a local charity the Marauders Male Health group - take a look at their facebook page to see the valuable work they do across South Wales

Track our progress on the day

On the morning of the walk tracking options will appear here.  Our detailed route is shown below

Event Details

Our journey takes in history, engineering excellence and the beautiful Welsh countryside.
Starting from Blaenavon Constitutional club,  our group will make its way past the Blaenavon Iron works up to Keepers pond at the top of Blorenge.

After making our way down the mountain we join the Brecon to Monmouthshire canal around bridge 97 at Govilion Wharf.
We the  walk for around 13 miles all the way to New Inn where we leave the canal.

We will be stopping at the halfway point at Goyte Wharf.

We then walk to Llandegfedd Reservoir .

we then walk the final couple of miles to Usk where we finish in the heart of the town of flowers, in Twyn Square

The walk will take as long as we need. Expected pace 2.5 mph but safety and us all finishing top priority.
We will stop regularly probably every 5 miles or so

Draft schedule

We will be met at Usk bridge by our support team and a couple of choristers with refreshments for the last mile.
